• Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation of a Transportation / Demand Billing application. This PB v3 / Oracle interfaced with various Meter Reading Oracle database as well as the CSS system via API calls the 3270 emulator. The application calculated all Demand Billing Charges, tracked nominations, produced bills and management reports. Eliminated 6 full-time positions and improved accuracy by 100%.  See Demo!

This dBASE IV application allowed the Engineering department to manage all of the Gas Mains throughout the metropolitan Boston Area. Project Phases I & II included conversion of the existing dBASE data into the new database structure, tracking of Mains Service, issuance of Mains Service Reports, tracking Open Service (Form 261) requests, etc.

• Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation of a Billing Verification System for independently verifying the results of the mainframe Billing Run. This PB v3 / Oracle application performed the same set of calculations (including rounding, etc.) performed by the mainframe billing system. Various test cases were verified daily between the PB Bill Calc and Mainframe Bill Calc. Variances of $0.01 were unacceptable.

This project involved performing major system modifications to their custom Billing System a COBOL / II IDMS/R application to support the requirements of Gas Adjustment Factor based on temperature conditions and the wholesale cost of gas.
